Hardcore Will Never Die is our mantra!

one month from this moment in time (July 10 at 8am) you’re going to be in line for free pancakes and beer at Hardcore Breakfast getting ready to witness what’s going to be one of the greatest moments in the history of Drop Bass Network events! our reason for being, the one and only, the godfather, the man the myth the legend…Marc Acardipane will be taking the stage!!! lord have mercy on us all.

there is one reason that the Midwest Hardcorps exists and it goes back to a track released in 1990 by Mescalinum United called “We Have Arrived”. Marc is Mescalinum United. unlike some other genres of electronic music, hardcore knows it’s year zero and this is it. the rest is history. and HE’S coming to Even Furthur to play for his hardcore disciples.

another one of Marc’s aliases, and in our opinion the best one, is The Mover. he’s never done The Mover live in the US. ever. he’s doing it for us, headlining the main stage later the same night. just him, an Akai MPC, and some effects for an extended set. this is gonna be a greatest moment number two. if you’re not headstrong don’t worry, The Mover is hard techno for the masses. slower and dark, hard but not hardcore. think perc or adam x or any of the other techno you’ve loved on our main stage, except this is THE MOVER!

Marc’s Frankfurt based Planet Core Productions (PCP) label and it’s many sublabels defined the sound of the future. a dark apocalyptic future that played out in warehouses of big sound, fog, and strobes. there are so many classics released by Marc that it’s impossible to even imagine one person was behind them all.

you’re wondering how is it we, the US hardcore promoters of the 90s, never booked Marc to play back in the day. once we got to the point of booking bigger acts in the early to mid 90s we couldn’t afford him and honestly we weren’t worthy. later we got more into the noisier side of hardcore. truth be told we should have tried to book him then, but his last trip to the US at the time was 1996 for Lenny Dee. as the 90s were winding down he was doing more of a party hardcore thing. then he kind of disappeared and we did disappear.

in 2016 we reached out. travel issues prevented him from coming to the states. we kept trying every year and talked a lot about music and Even Furthur. then last november we messaged him and by the end of january he said “we will make it possible”. me and Steve couldn’t have been more stoked.

in the last few years The Mover has been making a resurgence. all the big cool techno djs are playing his old tracks and dropping his name as an influence. he’s been playing live at all the big cool techno events too and people are freaking out. it’s about time he’s getting the respect he deserves on the world stage.

below is a link to The Mover live at Unpolished in 2018. This is some of what you can expect, but on a Midwest Wall of Bass in the middle of Somewhere, WI to a crowd of genuine hardcore fans. i can tell you at least two people (the promoters) are going to be loosing their fucking minds!
